Senior sessions are about more than photos—they’re about stepping into who you are. hen Addison arrived, she was a little shy and unsure of how to pose, so we took it slow—chatting, playing music, and letting everything ease into place. We explored two different locations, and by the time golden hour arrived, she had fully settled in, moving with confidence through golden fields. a new chapter
One of the most important things to remember during a family session with your newborn is that there’s no need to rush or aim for perfection. Babies set the pace, and that’s exactly how it should be. Trust your photographer to guide the flow, take breaks when needed, and follow your baby’s cues. Feeding, soothing, and pausing are all part of the process—not interruptions. When you allow yourself to slow down, breathe, and simply be present with your baby, the session becomes less about “getting the shot” and more about soaking in this fleeting season. Staying calm and stress-free doesn’t come from everything going perfectly—it comes from letting go and knowing those quiet, real moments are the ones you’ll treasure most.
Soaking It In
This maternity session was one of those easy, feel-good moments where everything flowed naturally. Inside a cozy local studio at the end of fall, the space was filled with warmth, movement, and genuine laughter as they soaked in this fleeting season of becoming parents. Their playful energy—dancing, teasing, and simply being present together—made the experience effortless. One of the best things you can do during a session is trust your photographer and let go of overthinking—when they did, the moments unfolded exactly as they were meant to. The final gallery is full of joy, connection, and intimate in-between moments that beautifully reflect the love and anticipation of what’s to come.
